JTA Training Days

JTA Training Days are fantastic days for us to take time out of our hectic lives and concentrate on things that will inspire us and inform us as teachers! Find out more here about what the days involve and how to get involved.

What are JTA Training Days?

JTA Training Days are the perfect opportunity to focus on our own development as teachers, learn about new ideas and different perspectives and spend time with others passionate about spreading the word about Belly Dance.

The Training Days typically include 5 hours of workshops, talks or other learning, that can provide the full annual CPD requirement for members who choose to come. We try to include at least an hour on health and safety or legal issues. We work hard to make sure that the content of the Training Days is interesting and informative, and to provide the kind of content that can be hard for us to access elsewhere in the Belly Dance world. In previous years we have had subjects as wide ranging as:

  • Disability Awareness
  • Marketing
  • How to complete a Risk Assessment
  • Improving Body Awareness
  • Cairo Today - Dance in uncertain times
  • Teaching Games
  • Safeguarding

Teachers/speakers have included many talented and knowledgable JTA members, as well as external organisations and inspiring dancers from other backgrounds and experience, including Lorna of Cairo, Joanne Town, Elis Pinheiro and Anna Kemper.

We also make sure there is plenty of opportunities to socialise and network with other teachers!

We run a minimum of one Training Day a year, but with the intention that events can be run more frequently as the organisation grows. The Training Days move around the UK and are subsidised to keep costs as low as possible and ensure that as wider range of members can come as possible. We also try to tie them in to our AGM.

Who Can Come?

JTA Training Days are open to all JTA Members. On occassion, we will put on an additional hour of training during the day which is specifically aimed at Graduate Members/those who have already completed the JWAAD Teaching Diploma. Where we do this, we will charge a small additional fee to those attending.

In the past, we have sometimes also run some additional workshops on the day with guest teachers that are open to everyone.

How Can I Find Out More?

We post details of our Training Days here once they are confirmed. Members will also hear more through our Facebook group, newsletters and emails.
